Lyme Disease, Toxic Mold Poisoning and Infertility to "Joyful Resilience" and...Pregnancy
/After 3 years of treatment for Lyme Disease and toxic mold poisoning (including IV antibiotics, prescription binders, chelation therapy, herbal antimicrobials, infrared saunas, and a whole host of supplements) I couldn’t seem to cross the finish line. I was still struggling with brain fog and an over-reactive nervous system, feeling like I was walking through life surrounded by scary tigers without the brain clarity to find an escape. I had lost my menstrual cycle two years prior and was feeling discouraged about having kids of my own. I consulted with several fertility specialists who were stumped as to how to reinstate my cycle and, instead, offered IVF as my only probable course of conception. My gut told me there had to be another way and I looked within for any sign or message that might show me the way.
My body was begging for the sense of internal calm and peace I had lost several years prior during my health journey and I felt that if I could just quiet my nervous system, everything else would fall into place. And that it did!
Already fascinated by neuroplasticity and mindfulness, I decided to try the Lightning Process and it was one of the best decisions in my life. Within a few weeks of doing the pre-session homework, I was awestruck by the return of my menstrual cycle. And just a month-and-a-half after my Lightning Process weekend, I found out I was pregnant! (I know...hard to believe, right?!)
In addition to this incredible miracle, I learned so much about myself throughout the process, enabling me to work towards becoming the best version of myself. I’ve thrown out my relentless perfectionist habits and need to be constantly productive, and welcomed in playfulness and calm presence. The Lightning Process has been life-changing for me and I plan to use the tools I learned for the rest of my life, working through whatever challenges come my way. Right now, that’s becoming the most joyful and resilient version of myself before I bring this little human into the world :)
Finally, I can’t say enough good things about Amanda who is an amazing coach and just an all-around special person. I feel so grateful to have her unwavering support and motivation cheering me forward!
